Don’t Get it Twisted
In the wake of the summer 2020 civil rights uprisings, CONTRA-TIEMPO members made time to reflect, imagine, and discuss what it means to exist as an activist. In this latest chapter of the civil rights movement, there has been a move towards hiring a workforce that is more diverse in race, gender, sexuality, and religious practices. On the other hand, people have been accused of performative activism. What is the fine line between tokenizing and doing the work to include people from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, races, genders, etc.? Don’t Get it Twisted unpacks all of this and more. New episodes premiere on our Youtube channel every other week.
